About the role
Our client, a well-established Canterbury manufacturer, is looking for an experienced finance leader to step into an ongoing contract as Chief Financial Officer. You’ll work alongside the current CFO through a planned handover period, then take full ownership of the role as they transition out of the business.
As a key member of the Executive Management team, you’ll report to the Directors and have day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing and controlling all financial activities across the company.
Responsibilities
Lead the handover from the outgoing CFO and take over the role with continuity and minimal disruption
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions
Develop and continually review short and long-term strategic financial objectives
Deliver timely, accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive job costing system
Manage forecasting, budgeting, consolidation and reporting processes
Advise the Directors and senior executives on the financial implications of business decisions, long-range planning and regulatory change
Support deal analysis and negotiations, investor and partner relationships, and private and institutional financing
Lead the finance function’s involvement in major IT and systems projects, embedding financial requirements, strengthening controls and improving reporting
About you
NZ CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
Well-rounded senior-level accounting and finance experience
Strong leadership and people management skills
Good IT and systems knowledge
Excellent communication and strategic thinking
Manufacturing or job costing experience is preferred but not essential
Immediate availability is preferred
