Our client is a leading transport company seeking a Transport Operations Administrator to support their Operations Manager and wider team. This role plays an important part in ensuring freight operations run smoothly through accurate documentation, pricing, record management and customer support.

Working within a busy transport environment, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate freight information, preparing documentation, verifying rates and providing high-quality administrative support to the operations function. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across systems, processes and people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer quotations and freight pricing, ensuring rates and charges are accurate.
  • Verify freight rates and maintain pricing schedules and operational information.
  • Prepare and process transport documentation, manifests and associated freight paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and operational reporting.
  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and wider operations team.
  • Assist with freight invoicing, reconciliations and documentation queries.
  • Liaise with customers to verify freight rates, pricing and service requirements.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and provide timely, accurate information.
  • Support ongoing process improvements through effective administration and reporting.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within transport, logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working with freight documentation, pricing or operational data.
  • The ability to interpret and verify freight rates and pricing information.
  • Strong systems capability, with the confidence to quickly learn and navigate transport management systems and business software.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS), freight invoicing or New Zealand transport operations would be advantageous.
