We're partnering with a well-established supplier to the building and construction sector that has built a strong reputation for quality products and exceptional customer service. With a loyal customer base and supportive team culture, they're looking to add an experienced Trade Sales Representative to their Christchurch branch.

This is a varied, customer-focused position where you'll work closely with builders, contractors, and other trade professionals, providing product advice, preparing quotations, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently.

The Opportunity

As part of the internal sales team, you'll play an important role in delivering outstanding service to trade customers while supporting the wider branch operations. You'll be responsible for building strong customer relationships and ensuring projects are supplied on time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers over the phone, via email, and at the trade counter
  • Preparing competitive quotations and converting enquiries into sales
  • Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Providing product knowledge and recommending suitable solutions
  • Developing strong relationships with builders, contractors, and commercial clients
  • Liaising with warehouse, purchasing, and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries
  • Supporting large projects, contract pricing, and tender enquiries
  • Working alongside external sales representatives to maximise customer outcomes
  • Delivering exceptional customer service in a busy branch environment

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in internal sales, trade sales, customer service, or a merchant environment
  • Knowledge of building products or the construction industry
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping customers
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, team-oriented approach and a willingness to get involved
