An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sales Representative / Technical Solutions Specialist to join a well-established and growing industrial equipment supplier servicing commercial and industrial clients across the lower South Island.

This is a field-based role focused on owning and growing a defined territory, managing key customer relationships, and driving new business opportunities. With a strong base of existing clients, the role is built on repeat, relationship-driven trade — ideal for someone who values long-term partnerships and solution selling over transactional sales.

Working autonomously while supported by a collaborative internal team, you will play a key role in driving revenue, margin, and overall territory performance.

The Role

You will take full ownership of a lower South Island territory, managing both existing accounts and new business development opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing a well-established portfolio of clients
  • Building long-term, value-driven relationships across multiple industries
  • Identifying, pursuing, and converting new business opportunities
  • Conducting regular face-to-face customer visits and site engagement (including travel)
  • Delivering technical product solutions through structured presentations and discussions
  • Preparing pricing, quotes, and service proposals
  • Driving quote follow-up and conversion to secure sales
  • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts, and reporting
  • Monitoring market activity and identifying growth opportunities
  • Achieving sales and margin targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction

About You

You are commercially minded, proactive, and relationship-focused, with the ability to manage a large geographic territory. You enjoy autonomy, take ownership of your results, and are confident engaging in technical sales conversations.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in an Account Manager or B2B sales role
  • Experience in technical or industrial product sales (highly regarded)
  • A strong understanding of relationship-based, repeat business models
  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business and convert opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • A self-motivated, results-driven approach
  • Confidence working in a field-based role with travel requirements
  • A full, clean driver’s licence
