About the role
This is a Health & Safety Business Partner position within a high-risk construction environment. You’ll operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping and delivering the health & safety strategy while ensuring strong execution across multiple projects and subcontractor networks.

You’ll balance strategy with visibility on-site, influencing outcomes, lifting capability, and embedding a proactive, risk-aware culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute H&S strategy
  • Act as the key advisor on all health & safety matters across projects
  • Drive subcontractor prequalification, onboarding, and performance frameworks
  • Analyse trends and data to inform strategic decision-making
  • Lead critical risk identification and mitigation across complex sites
  • Oversee audits, assurance programmes, and compliance frameworks
  • Guide and support incident investigations at a serious risk level
  • Embed continuous improvement initiatives across systems and behaviours
  • Coach leaders to build capability and ownership of safety outcomes
  • Champion a culture of care, accountability, and proactive risk management

About you

  • Extensive experience in construction or other high-risk industries
  • Proven ability operating at a Business Partner level
  • Strong experience managing subcontractor ecosystems
  • Commercially aware with the ability to align safety with business outcomes
  • Highly credible communicator, confident influencing senior stakeholders
  • Data-driven with the ability to translate insights into action
  • Relevant tertiary or professional H&S qualifications
