This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with site teams, managers, and subcontractors to embed a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance across multiple projects.

If you're someone who enjoys building strong relationships, influencing positive behaviours, and creating practical safety solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for leading the company's health and safety strategy while providing practical support across construction sites and office operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the health and safety function across multiple construction projects.
  • Driving a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and leadership.
  • Conducting site visits, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Managing incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Reviewing and improving H&S systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with New Zealand health and safety legislation.

  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitoring performance, reporting on key safety metrics, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

You'll be a confident communicator who enjoys working alongside operational teams and isn't afraid to get out on site.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or Senior Advisor role within the building and construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Experience leading incident investigations, audits, and risk management processes.
  • The ability to influence and engage people at all levels of the business.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification such as a Diploma, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
  • A current full New Zealand driver's licence.

If you're ready to join a business where safety is valued and your expertise will make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
