Tax Accountant

Location: Christchurch Central, Canterbury

Job Type: Full time

Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 per year

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Tax Accountant to join a well-established organisation in a newly created position.

This is a broad and interesting tax role, offering the opportunity to work across a range of tax matters within a complex and internationally connected environment. You’ll provide tax advice and support across the organisation, helping ensure compliance while also contributing to the ongoing development of tax processes and reporting.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for a varied portfolio of tax activities, working closely with internal stakeholders and supporting matters that span both New Zealand and international jurisdictions.

This could include:

• Managing and supporting a range of tax compliance and reporting requirements

• Providing advice on New Zealand and international tax matters

• Working across different tax jurisdictions and regulatory environments

• Supporting the organisation with tax planning, research and technical advice

• Assisting with the interpretation and application of relevant tax legislation

• Identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, systems and reporting

• Working collaboratively with internal teams and external advisors as required

About You

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Experience working across New Zealand and/or international tax

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent is preferred

• Exposure to different tax jurisdictions or international entities

• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge

• The ability to interpret legislation and apply it to practical situations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders
