Customer Engagement Graduate

Location: Christchurch Central, Canterbury

Job Type: Full time

  • Work in a modern CBD office

  • Build your commercial and consulting skills

  • Start your career in a business with plenty of opportunity to learn and develop

Looking to kick-start your career in a role where you’ll be talking to people, solving problems and gaining a real understanding of how businesses work? This could be the role for you.

You’ll spend your day speaking with corporate business customers, building relationships, understanding their needs and helping them find the right solutions. You’ll work with a variety of businesses and professional contacts, giving you the opportunity to develop your communication, relationship-building and commercial skills while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Speaking with corporate customers via phone and email, building strong working relationships

  • Understanding each customer’s business needs and providing tailored advice and solutions

  • Taking a consultative approach to conversations rather than simply answering questions

  • Managing customer enquiries, requests and follow-ups from start to finish

  • Working closely with internal teams to coordinate solutions for business customers

  • Identifying opportunities to add value and strengthen customer relationships

  • Managing a busy workload while keeping customer relationships at the forefront

  • Learning the wider business and developing your commercial understanding

What are we looking for?

You don’t need years of experience. This is a great opportunity for a graduate or someone early in their career who is keen to develop in a commercial, business-to-business environment.

We’d love to hear from graduates with a degree in Marketing, Business, Accounting, Psychology, Communications or another related discipline. Your degree doesn’t need to be directly aligned; we’re interested in people who can communicate well, think commercially and enjoy working with others.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Loves talking to people and building professional relationships

  • Is confident picking up the phone and having a conversation with customers

  • Is naturally curious and enjoys understanding people and their needs

  • Can listen, ask good questions and work out the best way forward

  • Has a commercial mindset and an interest in how businesses operate

  • Is organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple conversations at once

  • Wants to build a career around people, business and customer relationships

If you’re looking for a role where you can put your degree to use while developing valuable commercial, consulting and relationship management skills, this could be a great place to start your career.
