About the opportunity
We’re looking for an Accountant to join a well-established business in Christchurch. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad range of accounting functions, contributing to accurate financial reporting and supporting the wider finance team.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and management accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end processes
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts
Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Assist with GST and other statutory reporting requirements
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
Work collaboratively with the wider finance team and key stakeholders across the business
About you
You’ll be a capable and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a team environment while taking ownership of your responsibilities.
You’ll ideally bring:
Experience in commercial accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes.
A relevant accounting qualification or progress towards one
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proven experience using accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), SAP, Oracle, MYOB or Xero
Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a business
