Location: Christchurch Central, Canterbury

Job Type: Full time

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per year

  • Join an established business with a stable working environment.

  • A varied position combining document control, HR and Health & Safety.

  • Take ownership of an important function within the business.

The opportunity

Our client is an established business operating within the engineering and technical services sector, providing specialist solutions to customers across New Zealand.

They are looking to expand their existing team with an experienced professional who can take ownership of document control across HR and Health & Safety.

This is a varied role with a strong focus on managing, maintaining and improving business documentation. You'll also play an important part in implementing a new Health & Safety management system.

If you're someone who enjoys bringing structure to information, knows their way around Word and PDF documentation, and has a background across HR and/or Health & Safety, this could be a great next step.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking ownership of document control across the business, ensuring documentation is accurate, organised, accessible and appropriately stored.

  • Playing a key role in the implementation of a new H&S management system, helping establish and embed effective processes across the business.

  • Assisting with Health & Safety programmes, documentation and reporting.

  • Working closely with the H&S Manager and wider business to ensure documentation and processes remain up to date.

  • Managing and maintaining a range of business documents, including policies, procedures, employment agreements, reports and presentations.

  • Supporting HR processes, including employment documentation, contracts and general employee matters.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve document management processes and overall consistency.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience across HR and/or Health & Safety

  • Proven experience in document control, records management or a similar documentation-focused role.

  • Strong Microsoft Word and PDF skills, with confidence formatting, preparing and managing a range of documents and presentations.

  • An understanding of Health & Safety systems, programmes and documentation would be advantageous.

  • Someone who is highly organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.

  • A practical, driven approach and the confidence to work with people across different areas of the business.

If you're a naturally organised and motivated person, we'd love to hear from you.
