We're looking for a commercially minded Accountant to step into a broad, business-facing role within a manufacturing environment. Covering the full financial accounting function, this position spans everything from cost accounting and inventory valuation through to month-end reporting, reconciliations, and contract administration. You'll work closely with teams outside of finance, building a genuine understanding of how the business runs day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support cost accounting across the production process, including materials, labour, and overheads

  • Assist with inventory valuation and management of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

  • Compare budgeted and actual costs to identify variances and drivers

  • Prepare and review month-end and management reporting

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity

  • Assist with inventory reporting and/or payroll processes

  • Review and administer commercial contracts where relevant

  • Support compliance, audit, and process improvement initiatives

About You

  • Solid background as a Corporate Accountant / Financial Accountant in a similar commercial setting

  • Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, or manufacturing environments highly valued

  • Confident communicator who's comfortable partnering across different parts of the business

  • Experience with contracts is a plus

  • NZ and Australia experience beneficial but not essential
